Seriously, I cannot stand this guy. I remember when I used to watch this money grubbing hoodlum on the tube when it was cool to be a Christian and I was amazed at how much money he had and how much success with his fans. I call them fans because there’s no other way to describe his folks, but lost sheep or followers.
This guy is so full of himself, but isn’t that the case with all pastors? Of course it is. Oh, by the way, I am Atheist. But I used to be a Christian, few years back. And this is one of the reasons that I decided that following some imaginary man in the sky was kinda fucked up. Not only that, I actually begin to read the bible and see it for the load of crock it is. I admit, there is some inspiring stuff in there, but just like any author can spot, I can detect a well written story. (Parts of it anyway).
So, this guy, chokes his daughter, beats her and emotionally scars her gets a $5,000 bond? And he gets to go back home to where this child victim is. I hope they remove ANY AND ALL kids from his house and he should not be allowed to raise children from this point. Seriously, I was waiting for this douchbag to come forth with whatever his issues are. What a prick? And where is Taffy in all this? Creflo strikes me as a dictator, as all pastors must be in order to get others to obey them rather than the good book. But don’t you get tired of reading about another pastor who is caught up in some shit/scandal and now they are all sorry and asking for prayers from their customers? When will this shit end? As soon as peoplen wise up and start to think for themselves.
Creflo Dollar has tons of money, and he will never need money again,
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — Creflo Dollar, founder and pastor of World Changers Church International, was arrested early Friday on charges involving the choking of his 15-year-old daughter.
Dollar was taken into custody at his Fayetteville home and charged with simple battery and cruelty to children, NBC station WXIA of Atlanta reported.
According to the report from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Dollar’s daughter called police to say that her father attacked her after they argued about whether the daughter could attend a party.
The report says the daughter alleged that Dollar choked her, then threw her to the ground, punched her and hit her with his shoe. The responding officer noticed a scratch on the daughter’s neck near her throat; the daughter said her father gave her the scratch during the fight.
When police interviewed Dollar, he said he tried to restrain his daughter when she “became very disrespectful” after he told her she couldn’t go to the party, according to the report. Dollar admitted to spanking his daughter and wrestling her to the floor, but said it was because she hit him.
Dollar was taken to the Fayette County Jail after his arrest. Fayette County Police spokesman Brent Rowan said Dollar had his first appearance in magistrate court Friday and posted $5,000 bond, WXIA reported.
“As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children,” Dollar said in a statement released by his lawyer Nikki Bonner and obtained by The Associated Press. “The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support.”
Dollar will make no further comments since he’s involved in an ongoing criminal matter, but he is expected to preach Sunday, Bonner said.
According to his website, Dollar began World Changers ministries in 1986 and it grew, moving in 1996 the 8,500-seat World Dome, built in College Park for nearly $18 million without any bank financing. He and his wife, Taffi, church co-pastor, have five children. The ministry has 16 satellite locations and plans more. Creflo and Taffi Dollar also host “Changing Your World” television and radio broadcasts. The program is featured on the Trinity Broadcast Network.
Dollar was among six televangelists investigated in 2011 by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and the Senate Finance Committee. Their report raised questions about the personal use of church-owned airplanes, luxury homes and credit cards by pastors and their families, and about the lack of oversight of finances by boards often packed with the televangelists’ relatives and friends.
Dollar and his World Changers Church International of College Park and Creflo Dollar Ministries were among four televangelism organizations that the committee said did not cooperate with the investigation.
Dollar was a favorite of Rudy Eugene, the naked man shot dead by a Miami officer May 26 when, police say, he would not stop eating the face of a homeless man, Ronald Poppo.
“We watched Creflo Dollar Ministries every morning,” Yovonka Bryant, Eugene’s girlfriend, told a news conference covered by NBCMiami.com on Wednesday.
This guy has not a care in the world, because as long as there are
desperate mindless folks out there who have to believe in this god nonsense, he will always have a pulpit to spew his religious bullshit.
I feel sorry for his daughters who will have to face this freak again and may have no defense. I was asking where Taffy was at in all of this. But the truth is, no matter how we want the woman to be there for her daughters, if he is beating the shit outta the kids, then Taffy may have been a punching bag as well. These guys get diplomatic immunity in the community, I call it, “Community Immunity”, and that is where they can do no wrong. No one holds them accountable, because all they have to say is god forgive me and it is done. His membership just might increase behind this, and just like all the other sicko pastors, nothing staggers nor wavers the minds of the brainwashed Christian. That’s fucked up, but that’s life and we all get to sit back and watch this foolishess. What type of man puts his hand on his daughter? When your daughter gets to be a certain age, you should not even consider touching them. Now that is for those who believe in corporal punishment. Not child abuse. But a teenage girl should NOT be hit by her father. That is disgusting and he is a worthless piece of shit for doing this. Someone should beat the stench of faith off of him and show him how it feels. I’d do it personally given the chance. Yes I’m a girl, and I’d kick that shit out of that ass. I get so upset writing about this stuff. I bet a bunch of idiots come on this blog and tell me about forgiveness. In advance I’d like to say a solid FUCK YOU. Just to clear the air and let you know, I really don’t give a shit what you think of me or this blog.
For the record, I do not condone abuse or spanking kids. What I am saying is this. If you have a toddler and you spank that child, (within) reason to correct behavior, there should come a time to end that. Your child should have grown and matured enough to understand the difference between negative behaviors. You should also be aware as a parent that hitting your child does not change behavior. It cause resentment and a lack of respect from child to parent. Yes the child may fear you, but that’s not respect. Creflo wants to control everything around him. Bad enough he has an entire entourage of goons that support him and answer to his beckon call, but now he must control the mindset of his children as well? Get over yourself dude. You’re just a human like everyone else. If you were smart, you’d let your children live their lives and think for themselves. If you trust that you’ve done a good job, then you should trust your kids. His character is displayed here. I just hope that they keep an eye out on that address. If this girl had the need to call 911, imagine the fear that she was feeling at the time. And the 19 year old older sister of hers also attested to the events that had taken place? That says something about this nightmare. What daughter would want to call the cops on their famous dad? If you could just imagine how the children in a household like this would feel. So many people revering this non entity Dollar, and yet he is an abusive father. Who will believe these girls? And don’t we think that the bond was too low?
5,000 for choking a kid? That’s all you get these days? Looking at that Mugshot up above sheds more light on something. He isn’t the dapper intellectual that we all see on tv is he? He looks like a criminal in this photo and it suits him just fine.
On another note. I just left a site that actually acted as if they were gonna side with the child. Instead they said. “she hit him first and that he retaliated.” Ummmm, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD A MAN EVER EVER LAY A HAND ON A GIRL/WOMAN. Seriously? So basically, this news source is saying that it reports the news, but it condones this father hitting the child. Why? Because girls grow up and I quote, “their hips get wide and their breast get full, so they think they are grown.” Wow, so this is what girls have to deal with? Even if she did hit him first, as if she could really hurt him. He could have restrained or let the mother deal with the girls. Women deal with girls and men deal with their sons when it comes to situations like this. You don’t bully your daughter because you can. So, NewsOne, you got this one wrong. Here is another quote.
“If Creflo had to tackle his daughter to keep her in the house that night, then part of me applauds him. A prominent Father who is willing to risk the humiliation of jail in order to protect his child is the kind of hero that the Black community needs.”
What community? Black community? GTFOH! Let me stop while I can.
But as far as I’m concerned, physical confrontations with a child are not necessarily child abuse.
In a world where Black children are shot every day by one another and by the police, the tough hand of a loving parent might be the only thing that keeps that child out of the morgue. I encourage others to refrain from judging Pastor Dollar’s parenting techniques until the evidence is fully revealed. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day, his daughter thanks him for his sacrifice.
Those two quotes above are given by Dr. Boyce Watkins. So they give those degrees out to anyone I see. Common sense not required I suppose. I can see the daughter one day. “Thanks dad for choking the shit outta me and not trusting me to make my own decisions and choose wisely based on what you’ve taught me.” This Dr is worried about Creflos daughter being the victim of sexual assault if he doesn’t reign her in, but fails to see the physical abuse that she suffered at the hands of her own father.
Goodness, the ordeal that this little boy endured. He knew he wasn’t supposed to die. He knew that he was supposed to live. Only he saw that. His own mother didn’t think of her children as she attempted to take all of their lives.
Who was the relative that called the police? What was the domestic violence about? This is insane. What made her think this was the only option? Was it shame? Was it the thought that she couldn’t go to anyone? She mentions that she was alone, and if that is the case, leave your children, write a note, and do what you feel you have to do. Why take them with you? Is that the same thing as a man killing his wife when she decides to leave him? You think she belongs to you, so you take her with you when you go.
Mothers should realize, your children don’t belong to you, they belong to this world, to this earth. Your job is to bring them into the world, but they could have contributed somehow. Now, no one will get to know these children. This was a potential for something great. The mother was attending college, she worked hard to support her own family, and that’s all gone now. There is a time when a woman has had enough. There is a time when a parent needs to walk away. Walking away doesn’t mean you’re a bad parent, it just means that you cannot take care of your child anymore. This was senseless.
Do you know what a persons mental state has to be at in order for them to do this to their children? The story reads that this was a good mother. But good in what sense? Was she good because she fed and clothed them? Was she good because she took them to school? Where is the father? So many unanswered questions, and in time all of the links will be joined together. This young boy has a long way to go to recovery.
Added to the story: The landlord at her building said Armstrong shared the apartment with her boyfriend, and had twice asked to get the locks changed in a six-month period – most recently in March.
“She said she didn’t want him here,” John Boubaris, 48, said. “That was the last person living with her, the boyfriend.”
Neighbors identified the boyfriend as Jean Pierre, the father of the three dead children.
Details of the domestic incident preceding the death were withheld by police, and it was unclear if Pierre was at the apartment – although cops confirmed they had spoken with him.
“Whether he was there earlier in the evening, that’s part of our investigation,” said Newburgh Police Chief Michael Ferrara.

A 10-year-old boy clambered out the window of a minivan and swam to shore after his mother drove into the frigid Hudson River, killing herself and her three other children, officials said. A relative had called police to report a domestic dispute shortly before.
Lashaun Armstrong was the only survivor after his mother, 25-year-old Lashanda Armstrong, plunged the van into the river late Tuesday in this city 60 miles north of New York City.
When the van hit the water around 8 p.m., it was just past high tide and the Hudson was flowing swiftly to the south, pulling the vehicle some 25 yards out into the rain- and melt-swollen river, Fire Chief Michael Vatter said.
The chief figured the van floated in the 45-degree water for no more than two minutes.
“He got out of the car, got up onto the boat ramp, turned around and it was gone,” Vatter said.
The boy’s great-aunt, Angela Gilliam, told The Associated Press that he was “doing good” Wednesday and “taking it all in.”
“He rolled the window down and got out,” Gilliam said.
In the van with Lashanda Armstrong were Landon Pierre, 5, Lance Pierre, 2, and 11-month-old Lainaina Pierre, police said. Her husband and the father of the three dead children, Jean Pierre, was questioned. Police would not give details of the interview or say if the father had been charged with anything.
Gilliam, Lashanda Armstrong’s aunt, says she spoke to her niece earlier Tuesday and she was “not too good.” Gilliam later called police in Newburgh about her niece’s well-being and they acknowledge that officers went to the apartment. Neither Gilliam nor police provided other details about the domestic call.
By the time police got there, Armstrong had already taken the fatal plunge with her children.
Police said there was no history of domestic violence at the address.
Armstrong seemed stressed but not depressed when she picked up the children Tuesday at the Young and Unique Christian Development Child Care, said Shaniesha Strange, supervisor in the infant room.
“It just seemed like she was having a bad day,” Strange said. “I could see that something was kind of bothering her but she didn’t talk about it. She wasn’t one to talk about her business. The only thing she’d say was that she was so alone. She’s a single parent, she takes great care of her kids, goes to school, and works. She really needed a helping hand.”
Vatter said a passer-by saw Lashaun Armstrong come out of the river, picked up the soaking wet boy and took him to a nearby fire department. Vatter said the boy was so distraught that he had difficulty talking but ultimately told firefighters what happened. Rescuers went immediately to the river but it was too late to save the four victims.
Firefighters and police officers responded to the 45-degree river with boats. Divers searched for the minivan for about an hour before finding it submerged in 10 feet of water. They used a heavy-duty tow truck to pull it up the boat ramp and onto land.
Everyone inside was dead.
Armstrong lived in an apartment in a gritty part of this humble river city. Several neighbors on Wednesday recalled her as an attentive mother who balanced care of her children with an outside job. They were shocked by the news.
“She was a very good mom,” said Tina Claybourne, who lives nearby. “She took care of her kids. She always was with her kids.”
Neighbors said the children seemed energetic and happy and would play on the block and ride bikes.
“You know kids, they make noise, they play around,” said Shantay Means, a downstairs neighbor.
The boat ramp was unguarded by gate or chain. There was no sign that anything tragic had happened save for a single teddy bear left at the end of a dock that runs alongside the boat ramp.
Newburgh, which has about 30,000 residents, sits on the western shore of the part of the river that runs south through New York state and eventually splits New York and New Jersey.
A similar incident occurred in 2006, about 20 miles south of Newburgh.
In 2007, Victor Han, of Queens, was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to child endangerment. Han admitted he knew he was putting his daughters at risk when he stepped out of the family minivan on Bear Mountain in June 2006, leaving them with their mother, 35-year-old Hejin Han. She then drove the Honda Odyssey off a 300-foot drop, killing herself. The mother was killed but the children somehow survived.
It’s also reminiscent of the case of a South Carolina woman who drowned her young sons in 1994.
Susan Smith is serving a life sentence for killing 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alex by strapping them into their car seats and driving the car into a pond. Smith originally claimed she was carjacked before the truth came out.

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 16-year-old boy was jailed Monday, accused of grabbing his ex-girlfriend on her way to her bus stop and raping her. The victim was attacked early Monday morning by the teen wielding a knife.
According to the police report, 16-year-old Isaiah Cain dated the victim for about a week in March before the girl broke things off. She was attacked near the entrance of her apartment complex, the Metro at Michigan Park.
“I’m so shocked. I’m not going to lie to you. I’m so shocked,” resident Patricia McCray told WFTV.
“That’s kind of scary,” resident Gail Fox added.
Police said the victim was walking from her apartment to her bus stop on Conway Road near Curry Ford Road in Orlando around 5:50 am when Cain approached her.
According to the police report, Cain placed the victim in a choke hold as she screamed for her mother; Cain walked the victim past her apartment, threw her on the ground, and punched her in the face.
“You better not said anything else or it’s gonna [get] worse,” police said Cain told the victim as he picked her up. The victim told investigators Cain then pulled out a knife and the victim pleaded with him to put it away, eventually convincing Cain to hand it to her, and she tossed it into nearby bushes.
Investigators say Cain then forced the victim into the breezeway of one of the apartment buildings and began choking her with both hands; the victim told police she begged him to stop.
Cain then forced her on the ground and raped her, police said, then fled the scene.
The girl immediately walked home and called police, the reported stated. She was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital to be treated for her injuries, and then to the Sexual Treatment Center.
“One of the sergeants was familiar with who [the suspect] was and where he lives and contacted the family and that’s how we detained him,” explained Barbara Jones, Orlando Police Department.
Police contacted Cain’s mother, and the teen’s father was able to find him and hand him over to law enforcement. Police said he was taken into custody without incident. Police won’t elaborate about Cain’s past and how they knew him before the incident.
Officers spent the afternoon outside their home, waiting for a warrant to enter their apartment; they live in the complex directly next to the victim.
Though this was an isolated incident and Cain is behind bars, residents were still on edge.
“I just can’t believe it, and I’m afraid. I mean, rape,” Lachelle Odom said.
The victim’s friend told WFTV that she is 16 years old. The victim’s friend also said the girl is doing OK, but was very shaken by the incident.
Cain is facing charges of armed kidnapping, sexual battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, and battery by strangulation.
Apparently, moving on with your life is a thing of the past. Should women stop dating and marrying all together? If one partner wants to leave, it’s likely that they will die as a result of it. Well, at least that’s how you’d feel if you found yourself glued to the television in the last few months.
In time, some may start to become desensitized to these sorts of stories. Readers, what is your advice for any person who wants to leave, but is not sure how to? Read the story below…
Police arrested a man they said killed two people at an Orlando apartment complex on Sunday night.
Officers said 45-year-old Eligio Isalgue shot his estranged wife and her new boyfriend at the Camden at Lake Reserve Apartments.
The complex is located on Lake Margaret Drive near Dixie Belle Drive and the shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m.
Isalgue was arrested in the complex’s parking lot. Investigators said they found a gun inside the apartment.
Two other people, including Isalgue’s 13-year-old daughter, were in the apartment. The others were not injured.
Investigators said the husband and wife had not lived together for about two months.

Police said they responded to a prowler call late Sunday night at 5400 block of Lake Margaret Drive (see map) after a neighbor said they saw 45-year-old Eligio Isalgue peeking through the victim’s apartment windows.
They said Isalgue attempted to kick in the front door, but when he failed, he moved to the rear sliding glass door and forcefully broke into the apartment, police said. He then opened fire on his estranged wife, Rosa Barrientos, and her new boyfriend with a .40 handgun, according to police.
Police said Isalgue left his 13-year-old daughter and a friend alive in the apartment.
When Isalgue left the apartment, he was immediately detained in the parking lot by police officers.
Officials said Isalgue and Barrientos had been married for 20 years, but had not lived together for two months. In 2002, Isalgue and Barrientos filed for divorce, according to the Orange County Clerk Of Courts Office.
A background check on the couple’s history revealed one battery domestic violence case against Isalgue in 1998 with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Police said the charges were dropped due to declination to prosecute.
Police said Isalgue is charged with two counts of murder.
The names of all the victims have not been released. This investigation is ongoing.
A Seminole County jury found James Hataway guilty on all charges Friday evening.
Hataway Takes Stand
The jury decided that Hataway was guilty of attempted first-degree premeditated murder, burglary of a conveyance with a battery, false imprisonment and robbery.
Hataway was accused of attacking Rachael Clarke in August 2008 in Seminole County. Clarke was left in a neck brace with scratches and bruises all over her body.
Hataway took the stand Friday morning and claimed he never meant to hurt Clarke. He said the incident started with a hug.
“She was giving me a hug and at that point, she started screaming and she pushed me off of her and she said, ‘Stop, you’re hurting me,’” Hataway said.
Hataway claimed he “didn’t know what was going on,” so he chased after the woman when she ran down the street.
“She saw me coming up and she started screaming … she says, ‘Help he’s trying to kill me,’” Hataway said. “I said, ‘I’m not trying to kill you.’”
Hataway denies that he then shoved Clarke’s head into the ground.
“It’s possible I got my hands near her face to calm her down,” he said.
Hataway is linked to the disappearance of 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio. He was the last person seen with her when they left a Metrowest bar in May 2009.
Hataway said he doesn’t know what happened to Ocasio. Ocoee police said he’s a suspect in her disappearance, but he has not been charged.
“I’m happy as hell,” said Joanne Clarke, the victim’s mother.
Rachael’s mom said after her daughter relived the 2008 attack Tuesday, she couldn’t bear to be in the same room as Hataway for the verdict.
“It’s way too much,” said Joanne Clarke.
Plenty of others, like Liz and Joe Ocasio, were there to celebrate the outcome of the week-long trial.
“That brave girl today, not only did she get lucky getting away, she put a monster behind bars where he belongs,” said father Joe Ocasio.
“Once we find Tracy, we’ll know where he is, so we can go after him. He didn’t get away that time and he’s not going to get away this next time either,” said mother Liz Ocasio.
Hataway’s friend, Dallas White, said he is disgusted by the verdict. “If he wanted to hurt that girl, that girl would have been dead. That guy is 10 times stronger than me. He’s a big teddy bear,” said White.
Rachael Clarke stood in front of a full gallery and testified about an event that almost stole her life.
She pointed her finger at James Hataway who she said tried to kill her after she gave him a ride home from a party in Casselberry in 2008.
Hataway sat in handcuffs in the courtroom, freshly shaven and bald with a vacant look on his face for most of the day.
For a portion of the hearing, Clarke stood in front of the jury and demonstrated how she said Hataway tried to kill her. She put her hands around an Assistant State Attorney’s throat and said, “He wouldn’t let go of me.”
Clarke added, “I felt like he was trying to break my neck.”
Hataway is also the sole suspect in the disappearance of an Ocoee woman named Tracy Ocasio and the death of an Orlando man named Onda Christopher George. In the courtroom were the parents of both.
When asked how she could handle looking at the man investigator believe is responsible for the death of her daughter, Mrs. Ocasio said, “I ask myself that everyday.”
If convicted Hataway faces life in prison.
Now we have to hold on to hope that He will come clean with what he knows about the missing Florida woman, Tracy Ocasio. She was last seen with Hataway and has not been seen since the night they left a club together.
Christopher George, a friend of James Hataway went missing around the same time Tracy Ocasio did and his remains were believed to be found in Apopka
, Florida. His personal belongings were discovered, and the missing link to his disappearance all centers around James Hataway. Georges Mother was able to identify the affects of having belonged to her son Chris George.
What’s next? Possibly hoping that James Hataway will attempt to get some sort deal in order to get a lesser sentence.
Helen, honey, the way to a mans heart is through his stomach sweetie. And no that doesn’t mean to shoot him through the heart. Oh my, these people still have to be taught how to land a man. If every woman took rejection that way, we would really need gun control
Did I just say Gun control again? This is the 4th time I’ve written about guns in like 2 days. Get off that topic? Ok…but I promise you, before this week is out, you will be reading another story of a gun crime.
So, Helen asks for a kiss from her “fantasy” lover and he says NO. First off, it’s not easy for a woman to hear those words. Women are hardly rejected. But now this story has me wondering what Helen looks like. Really, I’m curious to know what makes her think she’s so hot as to land a 53 year old. Maybe she looks every bit of 75, who knows? Regardless, this pistol toting granny needs some therapy. All she wanted was one simple kiss. You mean to tell me this guy couldn’t be so nice as to do this lady a favor? His comeback of, “I told her I already got a girl” is funny.
Men are typically the ones who cannot accept rejection, but women get frustrated as well. Maybe Helen is sexually frustrated or just wanted to feel the touch of a man one more time. What’s wrong with that? Nothing. I just hope that we don’t start seeing more old women shooting at men because they said NO. Read the story below…
A 92-year-old woman was arrested on charges that she fired shots into a home after a man inside denied her a kiss, the Ocala Star-Banner reported.
According to the newspaper, 53-year-old Dwight Bettner asked neighbor Helen Staudinger, 92, to leave his home. She said she would only leave if he kissed her, but left angry when the man refused.
The man told the Star-Banner that he was talking on the phone in his bedroom when Staudinger fired the first in a series of shots from a handgun.
The man said that despite him telling Staudinger that he is in a relationship, she insists he is “supposed to be her man,” according to the Star-Banner.
Staudinger faces charges for firing shots into a home.
Nothing like being caught on the wrong side of the law, when you were once a law enforcement officer. Noone will understand better what walking down that long corridor means than Sylvia Puig. Hopefully, she has good Karma. It would be good if she weren’t a crooked officer. What would make a wife shoot her husband? He was lying in bed and she shot him?
This story has a lot of missing links. It is a tragedy when relationships end in homicide. Are the days over when parting ways actually worked? Do we need to speak on gun control? It is notable that too many women and men are being killed in domestic disputes from gun usage. These are apparently law abiding citizens where are allowed legally to purchase a weapon, then something happens and they abuse that privilege. Yes it is abuse of privilege when you irresponsibly remove a gun from it’s safety place and decide to commit a crime with it. There is no fight in a marriage that is worth murder is there? Read the story below…
OCALA, Fla. — An Ocala woman called 911 and told police that she shot her husband while in their home at the 1200 block of S.E. 19th Street Wednesday night, Marion County investigators said Thursday.
When Ocala police officers arrived at the home, they found 52-year-old Victor Puig lying in bed, still alive, with a gunshot wound to his face. Victor Puig was transported to the hospital for treatment, where he later died.
Investigators said the couple had been having marital problems, which may have led to the shooting.
Officers recovered a .9-mm handgun from inside the home, which they said is believed to be the weapon Puig used to shoot her husband.
Detectives said they initially arrested Puig for the attempted murder of her husband. However, on Thursday detectives learned of her husband’s death and said she will be charged with homicide.
Puig was transported to the Marion County jail and is being held with no bond.
Puig is a correction’s officer at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said her husband is a former corrections officer for the same agency.
One of the curses of being a woman. She should have let him die when he had that heart attack. That could have been her escape to freedom if she didn’t care so much. Jesus lying on the bed in misery is every battered womans fantasy. It read like a movie scene from a Tyler Perry Movie, yet, Fabiana didn’t take the help from God and let sleeping dogs lie. She was a better person for it, but it cost her her life.
It is going to be a horrible ordeal for her children who are left without a loving mother. They already had less than dad material when it came to Jesus, but the glue that held that family together is gone. How will these children cope?
When Fabiana was granted the petition for protection initially and then she recanted on it, it is possible that the judges see this pattern a lot. Women, in the heat of the moment will come down to the courthouse screaming bloody murder when all hell broke loose in their homes, and then when the judge says, “Granted!” They fight to get back with their abusers. It may seem that a broken system doesn’t work, but in all actuality, a broken woman doesn’t work. Fabiana was broken, and she trusted when she shouldn’t have. She loved someone who was not worthy of her love. She is an exception to the rule though. In the end she did try, however, it was too late. Someone with Jesus Romeros mindset would only be satisfied with the shedding of blood. He had been poisoning her, and taking from her life, little by little, and in the end, he took her life along with his miserable existence.
Read the story below…
Fabiana Romero’s estranged husband threatened to kill her and then himself if she ever left him, according to court records that documented years of spousal abuse.
Three days after their 20th wedding anniversary, he made good on that threat.
Fabiana Romero was gunned down in the breezeway outside of her new apartment at Villa del Sol condos in south Orange County Wednesday. Jesus Romero, her estranged husband whom she had filed for divorce from and had a permanent injunction against, was found dead nearby from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, deputies said.
The Romero’s four children, ages 17 to 7, were at school when the shooting took place. It’s unclear who will take care of them.
The couple’s murder-suicide is the first domestic-violence related slaying in Orange County this year. In 2010, nearly one-third of all homicides in the county were attributed to domestic violence.
“I was really holding my breath,” said Harbor House of Central Florida CEO Carol Wick, regarding the months that had passed since the last domestic violence killing. “Last year we had one on New Year’s Day and held a steady pace all year until we had 27 people dead.”
Wick, who runs the area’s only domestic violence shelter, hopes word has spread since last year and that those in danger are working on getting a safety plan in place.
Fabiana Romero, 37, appeared to be taking steps to keep herself and the couple’s four children safe. Those steps now are memorialized in pleas to the court to keep her estranged husband away.
In a two-page, handwritten petition for an injunction against her husband filed on Dec. 20, Fabiana pleaded with a judge to grant her the order against 43-year-old Jesus Romero.
“I have been wanting to leave the house for months and he always prevents it,” she wrote. “He said if I leave he will kill himself or kill me.”
Since 2006, Jesus Romero hit her with their car, put oven cleaner in her face wash, installed a GPS monitor on her vehicle, placed a recording device on her phone, kicked and bit her, she wrote.
Most recently, he twice tried to drug her so he could sexually abuse her because the couple had not been intimate for months, the petition states.
The day she tried to leave him, he took away her credit cards and keys, cutting off access to money that she earned.
“‘If you leave this house, you leave with $0!’” Fabiana wrote, recalling her husband’s threats. “I felt so frustrated, because I am on the only one that works in the family. I am the provider and he just took all that I had worked [for] away.”
Court records show December’s petition was not the first time the woman had filed for protection. During two separate incidents in 2008 she asked a judge to protect her. In a Jan. 2008 petition, she explained her how her husband kept her isolated.
Two weeks later she asked for the temporary injunction to be dismissed because he suffered a heart attack and she was concerned for his health.
Court filings also alleged Jesus Romero, a physician in his native Venezuela, had psychiatric issues and prescribed medicine. He allegedly suffered a brain injury while riding on Space Mountain in 1998. He unsuccessfully tried to sue Walt Disney World. The case was tossed after the judge learned he lied repeatedly about serving a two and a half year prison sentence in Venezuela on a cocaine conviction.
Later in 2008, Fabiana Romero applied for an injunction and was denied.
The next bout of legal proceedings came in December 2010 when a temporary, followed by a permanent injunction. Jesus Romero filed a counter injunction. Then she filed for divorce and moved out.
Detectives did not release much information about what led to the shooting Wednesday. Fabiana Romero is the 8th homicide victim in Orange County this year.
Mom plotted with her imprisoned son and another inmate to kill her husband is arrested on murder charges.
A Viera woman was arrested on Tuesday, accused by Brevard County invesitgators of plotting with her son to kill her husband in 2008.
Brevard deputies arrested 46-year-old Sharon Myers on charges of first degree premeditated murder and armed burglary. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the warrant was issued after Grand Jury testimony earlier Tuesday.
Investigators say Myers planned the murder of her then-husband, 50-year-old Gary Kenney, with her son Darryl Kenney and a man named Rubin Nero, both of whom were in prison at the time.
The pair were released only days before Gary Kenney was found shot and stabbed to death in a Merritt Island home he shared with Myers on June 16, 2008, officials said.
“Investigators immediately suspected her involvement and have worked in coordination with the State Attorney’s Office to prepare and present a case for prosecution,” Lt. Todd Maddox, a sheriff’s spokesman, said in a statement on Tuesday.
Darryl Kenney, 24, was arrested shortly after deputies discovered his father’s body, when he was spotted driving his father’s truck in the area of Venetian Way and North Courtenay Parkway, authorities said.
Corrections records show Kenney and Nero, 23, were both sentenced to life in prison in the killing, in October and December, respectively. Kenney is serving his sentence in the Tomoka Correctional Institution, and Nero is serving his time in the Franklin Correctional Institution.
Records show the younger Kenney had been released from prison June 12 — five days before the suspected killing. He had spent more than a year behind bars after convictions for grand theft, burglary and aggravated battery stemming from cases in 2004 and 2005.
