A federal holiday in the United States commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.

So if you read the information below you will have a better understanding of whats common sense to African Americans.

The Emancipation Proclamation is an executive order issued by United States President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, during the American Civil War using his war powers. It was not a law passed by Congress. It proclaimed the freedom of slaves in the ten states then in rebellion, thus applying to 3.1 million of the 4 million slaves in the U.S. at that time. The Proclamation immediately freed 50,000 slaves, with nearly all the rest (of the 3.1 million) freed as Union armies advanced. The Proclamation did not compensate the owners, did not itself outlaw slavery, and did not make the ex-slaves (called freedmen) citizens.[1]

On September 22, 1862, Lincoln issued a preliminary proclamation that he would order the emancipation of all slaves in any state of the Confederate States of America that did not return to Union control by January 1, 1863. None returned, and the order, signed and issued January 1, 1863, took effect except in locations where the Union had already mostly regained control. The Proclamation made abolition a central goal of the war (in addition to reunion), outraged white Southerners who envisioned a race war, angered some Northern Democrats, energized anti-slavery forces, and weakened forces in Europe that wanted to intervene to help the Confederacy.[2]

What that means is this. African Americans were not free so why should they give a flying fuck about Independence Day?!? Just saying…

I wrote a blog about Beyonce getting pale as the moon and shunning her blackness. It’s full circle again. Lil Kim. Who is she trying to be? Some say she’s trying to be like Nicki Minaj…maybe the pictures will tell you what to think. Either way, this is not the same girl that was on the scene years ago. Who knew this was hiding inside of her. That dreadful word called “Hate” for oneself. Nicki doesn’t need to hate on her, because she has enough of that going around herself.

What is going on with black people. YOU ARE NEVER EVER GOING TO BE WHITE! Stop trying. And why would you wanna be? Lighter is not better stupids. Same old slave mentality bullshit. TrayVon Martin …Why his Family may be the reason he gets no Justice!!

A young African American boy walks down the street carrying a bag of skittles and a cup of sweet tea is gunned down by a trigger happy community (official). His job was to be a neighborhood watchman. To say the least he took the situation too far. He murdered a young boy in cold blood and seems to have no remorse. On the stand as he was being questioned regarding his actions, as it referred to the decision to give him bail, he made a shocking comment.”I didn’t know how old he was” From the mouth of the attacker/aggressor Zimmerman. Will he get off for committing this crime?

Here is the disturbing part. Most residents of Sanford, Florida are very much aware of the racial tension between the residents and law enforcement of that town. The city is known for stereotyping blacks. Yes, crime has been an issue there, just as it has been in many towns. What makes this town different? Blacks have no voice and have chosen not to exercise their rights to free speech. Marches were held, people came from 100′s of miles away all to be a part of the outreach towards the Martin family. Seemingly to no avail. Mainly because, the state of Florida has a multitude of communities of blacks that insist on staying silent and thinking that marching to songs like, “We Shall Overcome” will be beneficial to their cause. It wont help. It didn’t help when Martin Luther did it and it won’t now. Sounds pessimistic? Not at all. It’s a matter of fact. Al Sharpton, The New Black Panther Party arrived and yet Zimmerman is tucked away and being taken care of by the state. He has no fears. He is receiving support from a portion of his community that believes in his story and sees this as an opportunity to to express their fears and hate. Yet, where is the outreach for the Martin family? The news reported the website of George Zimmerman a several occassions. They mention the fact that he has a facebook page. They introduced his attorney. Yet, it seems that the Martin family has cowered away into their respective corners to sulk over the loss of their deceased son. Where is his justice? They have received very little coverage, and the footage that is being shown is surrounded by their vision of defeat and desperation. It is fair to say that if Trayvon Martin doesnt get justice, it may be due to the idea that his family is passive and too emotional. Meanwhile, Zimmerman looks headstrong. If this family wants justice, they have to fight in it. Unfortunately, as Christians, they will sit back and wait on god to deliver them and show up and give them the justice that they deserve. Hmmmmm, not gonna happen. No one gets anything in this world without a fight. Do you think that Zimmerman will walk?

Another point to mention. Where have the character witness’s so to speak who could attest to the fact that Trayvon was a good boy? Has the family rounded them up? Friends, acquaintances, neighbors…etc. This young boy needs people who can come to his defense. Its not up to the courts or law enforcement to provide this information, the parents must do their own detective work. George Zimmerman has had several people from his neighborhood state that he is a kind hearted young man. A dead man cannot speak.

This is the image that the media is now showing the general public. It is an attempt to make Zimmerman appear to be more acceptable rather than the horrible shot of him in his jail house Orange. You might be surprised that it actually works. The Z Team has their homework done. They want him to win and they have insisted that the media bite their ideals and less of the ideals of the deceased and his family. The tables have turned and pretty soon, the Martin family will be grabbing at anything they can to ruin the image of an already known killer.

This photo shows the face of a loving family man. He looks soft and gentle. Like Norman Bates states, "Wouldn't Harm a fly." He sells it well and the media is buying. Mankind is much like a sponge. Soaking up whatever we get an overdose of. This picture does not show what was shown the night Zimmerman committed this crime. This is the picture that the public will want to relate to.

BET has a new Competition coming in Fall 2011. IMO, BET is outdated.

iT’S ABOUT TIME! BET is the worst thing to ever happen to the black community in recent years. They keep blacks in the dark about anything worthwhile knowing and it’s left the community stagnant for years on end. Marketing to a younger crowd in the worst way possible. BET boasts shows that glorify drug dealers and drug dealing. It is known to continuously give it’s viewers a one sided perspective on what it is to be African American. It in no way shape or form elevates the mind of the toddler. It does nothing to stimulate the mind of the thought process of teens. It in now way garners the support needed for the young adult. Frankly, the station is devoid of having any real principles that are applicable to a living other than substandard.

It is fair to say that most black families have no interest in watching the network unless they are hosting a Music Award Show of some sort. Other than that, it’s a waste of time. Late at night, the channel allows Pastors to solicit monies from it’s viewers. Knowing full well that some of these same pastors have been investigated for fraud and tax evasion. What type of role model is that for children to see? Pastors who are pedophiles are allowed to stand on the podium for the viewers to see despite their crimes, if they pay for air time, they get it. Even secular networks will be careful as to who they let do commercials or what types of shows they want. BET accepts all rejects.

There isn’t a day that goes by where you turn to the station and the movie of the night is of some poor black family who has a son named Trevon who is struggling on a decision. His typical decision is NOT what college to join, but rather, should I sell drugs and join a gang. That is not the typical black American household and BET IS in a time warp. They literally have no clue what’s going on. What you broadcast on the air shows a lot and for a station to be called BET, they fail miserably. Black Entertainment  is what they are supposed to specialize in. However, There is nothing entertaining about having to watch gun shots and teen victims laying dead or dying in the streets. There is nothing entertaining about seeing all the movies that offer no real solution for getting out of the ghettos. It’s like watching Good Times everyday. What’s Good about watching blacks live in the same run down apartment with a lazy black employee who refuses to do anything constructive? That sort of show is fine at times, but as an everyday thing, it would give any child watching the idea that this sort of living is acceptable. It’s not. We have a black president for goodness sake. Why are we still stuck in 1960?

It will be refreshing to see actual programs that highlight the careers of professional blacks, historians, educational shows and the elite entertainers of the world, History and present. That is what black America needs to see. Read the story below…

The country’s first broadcast network aimed at African-American audiences is set to debut this fall with free movies, sports and documentaries.

Atlanta-based Bounce TV will be an over-the-air channel supported by sponsors, showing programs for blacks ages 25 to 54. It is designed to be carried on the digital signals of local television stations, and it doesn’t necessarily want to compete with existing cable networks like BET, TV One, or Centric, said Ryan Glover, a former Turner Broadcasting executive and member of the Bounce leadership team.

“We are basically targeting the rabbit-ear consumer,” Glover said.

As the network grows, it also plans to produce original programming. The network hopes to launch in as many as half of American television households, or up to 50 million homes.

Glover declined to disclose how much the venture will cost, saying only that it is less than launching a cable network.
“Our audience is so desperately underserved, I think consumers will welcome a fourth option,” he said. “Hopefully in the future, there will be a fifth, sixth and seventh offering. Bounce TV will fill the void for people who are hungry for more African-American-related programming, stories, characters, sports and events.”

Bounce has already acquired the television rights to nearly 400 movies, including “The Wiz” and “Car Wash”; several Spike Lee productions, including “Jungle Fever,” “Mo’ Better Blues” and “Do the Right Thing”; and films featuring Oscar winner Denzel Washington, such as “The Hurricane,” the Civil War epic “Glory” and “Philadelphia.”

The network also announced a multiyear rights agreement with Urban Sports Entertainment Group to televise football and basketball games from the country’s largest black athletic conference, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, including the CIAA championship football game and select quarter- and semifinal CIAA tournament basketball games.

Media analyst and consultant Sherri Anne Brill called the startup interesting.

“What it will do is give access to that type of programming to those who may not have access to” cable, she said. “Everything competes in a multichannel environment, but it’s not like someone who has cable won’t want to watch this if it’s good. As long as they have big investors behind them, they’ll be able to get the word out. It’s tough to get on the map. The key is marketing and generating awareness.”

Martin Luther King III and civil rights icon Andrew Young are also listed as founders of the network. Rainforest Films co-founders Rob Hardy and Will Packer are also on the network’s leadership team, and ex-Sony Pictures Television Executive Jeffrey Wolf is leading distribution efforts.

Michael Clare Bronx Pastor Is offered Plea deal for the raping and impregnating a 12 yr old girl

A Bronx pastor charged with raping a 12-year-old girl from his flock turned down a “sweetheart” plea deal that came with three years in prison.

Michael Clare, 38, refused the offer from prosecutors, despite “almost irrefutable proof” he impregnated the child, said Bronx Supreme Court Justice Megan Tallmer.

“He wasn’t interested,” Tallmer said in court Monday.

Clare’s lawyer, Paul Brenner, asked the judge to consider probation instead of prison.

“I would never do that,” she snapped, citing a DNA match between Clare and the victim’s aborted fetus.

Clare – the married leader of the Harvest Worship Center and principal of the associated Harvest Prep school, declined comment outside court.

Authorities learned of the alleged crimes in June, when the girl, who now 15, told her parents and police that Clare had sexually preyed on her for three years.

Clare, who is free on $50,000 bond, faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of first-degree rape at trial.

Prosecutors believe he may have victimized other young churchgoers as well.

The judge said his preaching days are probably over, though, since his name would likely be added to the state sex offender registry following any plea deal.

“I don’t see how he could continue his work as a pastor,” Tallmer said.

Clare’s lawyer said the clergyman will be vindicated at trial.

“He turned down the plea deal because he’s innocent,” Brenner said.

One prosecutor said that was a mistake.

“This was a sweetheart offer considering the evidence against him,” the prosecutor said. “It won’t get any better from here.”

So you would think that the story is that a Pastor raped a 12 year old girl and that she was a member of his congregation and that he impregnated her. But not today. Today the story is about, Why is there a “sweet heart deal in the first place?”

First off considering the nature of the crime, it is highly Inappropriate to call it a Sweet Heart Deal. That’s tasteless and tacky.

Where is the outcry and outpouring of blacks on this subject? We should see pastors on the television and on the podiums regarding this crime against this young girl. Instead they’d rather defend 12 rapists from Texas because they were “good boys.” They had potential. Who are we kidding?

Regardless of the evidence against this man, what’s wrong with this picture? How is it possible that for raping a 12 year old child you get 3 years? Then to attempt to clean it up and say, “It won’t get any better from here.” They have really done this child a favor haven’t they? Then the comment “The Clergyman will be vindicated at trial.”

Why do I write these stories? Why even bother? Where is the justice in this case of this girl? It’s her color isn’t it? It’s her wanton eyes as a 12 year old black girl. It’s the notion that all black girls are ” Open” and sexual before their time. It’s the old idea that black girls are “loose”. It still hasn’t died yet. She must’ve wanted this. Perhaps as the pastor was preaching, the child was in the audience smiling at him. She must’ve been crossing her legs and pulling a Sharon Stone. The Good Pastor Clare couldn’t resist, now could he?

Principal and Pastor? “I don’t think he will ever be able to preach again, or how could he?” Easily, very easily. It’s no wonder blacks are set back so far financially for supporting rapists and con artists. If he wanted to be, he can be in the pulpit immediately. Why? How? Many black patrons are still pimping their pastors and they are nothing more than whores and drug addicts that need entertainment.

When you choose your man of God over God, then you do yourself a disservice. He should do the maximum time allowed. He should pay punitive damages to the victim. The monies that he collected from his delusional members should be used to pay for this childs education and any needs that she may have. A thorough investigation should be done behind the walls of this church and it’s so ironic that he’s a Principal as well. What a real piece of garbage this pathetic waste of human life is. He has surrounded himself with children. These types always do.

If his members aren’t complaining about this Satan Reject, then who will? See, a lot of times the members will know what’s going on and still sit idly by and do nothing. They can know that he is a whore, a drug user and a pedophile, but to save face, they hide behind God. It’s insane and these fools will bust hells gates wide open. It is despicable. This attorney is a money hungry pile of dung with no morals. This story is an all time low.
If I were his wife, I would be repenting to God for marrying such a detestable thing. It’s not likely that his wife knew what she was getting and of course, no background check can help in these situations. When you marry something like this, it destroys your core and all of your judgments become challenged from then on. Did this man have children? What do they think? This has been the toughest story to talk about because it’s taking all I can to avoid expletives. My attempts to maintain a professional site are going out the window when it comes to children.

How many children have to go through this before stricter laws are made? Laws are already on the books, but if deals can be offered in exchange for lighter sentences, then what has been accomplished? This animal will get out and do the same thing again. That seems to be the basis of all these crimes. Let him out, and let him destroy further. It is a vicious cycle and parishioners won’t stop it, because they are too heavenly minded that they are no earthly good. I better not hear one comment about “Judge Not.” I swear, I will curse you out from sun up to sun down. Any of you stupid blacks who come to this site with your nonsense bull about how this man should be judged by God, don’t you even leave a comment. No one wants to hear your crap. Frankly, we are sick of you and your stupidity and ignorance. I don’t care who your Pastor is and what you believe. Another note, Black people were raped, beaten and abused by white men years ago, and this following the leader needs to stop. How many of you were raised to believe that blacks stayed on their side and whites stayed on their side? Basically, DO NOT associate with those people. Now granted we do have many who still feel that way. But the new thing now is populate the earth and do it whatever way you see fit?
Why can’t we all love each other? What is the harm in loving someone out of your race?
Too many years have gone by where you’d have a white man who looked at a black woman and thought to himself, “Nah, she won’t go for me.” Well did you try? She might have actually been thinking the same thing. Have you ever looked at another race and thought, “What do they think about my race and my people?” Have you ever taken the time out to ask them what they thought? What’s the harm? If you want to know, then why not inquire? That has been a major problem in this country, and as we watch the Old fogies die off, you will begin to see more interracial couples marrying. The reason I mentioned the Old Fogies is because they are the ones who left the mark on the brains of their children. And it’s unfortunate. It would seem that avoiding the subject would be the best option now, but in this day and age, you have to talk about it.

So let’s talk. What is holding you back from going forth in that interracial relationship? Is it some stereotype that white men aren’t as endowed as black men? Is it that you feel that Asian Men are more educated and you’d feel inferior than he if you were to embark on a relationship? Are you concerned that you’re not black enough for that black guy that you’ve had your eye on? Are you thinking that as a black woman, that your hair is not long enough for you to confront that white guy? What’s your insecurity? That is the first thing you have to deal with. It seems simple enough, but you’d be amazed at how the many doctrines that were passed down will influence who you choose to fall in love with.
I can assure you, with love, sometimes there is no choice. If your potential love is an older white woman and you’re a younger black man, then why aren’t you pursuing it? Who are you living for? The racial barriers will never be broken if we continue to live in segregated states. If we continue to attend separate schools, declaring the separate but equal status, things will never progress. And it is high time we’ve had some progression in this country. Love truly knows no bounds and knows no color or creed. It is truly based on what you feel when you are with that person. The way that person looks at you and how they perceive you.

Now of course, you want to avoid getting with someone simply on the basis of skin color. That could be devastating in the end. Now perhaps for those of you with your fetishes of Asian women or black women, or black men who desire to have a fling with a white woman, what’s the harm if both people are mutually respecting the choice? Just be mindful of the other persons thoughts.

When you venture out into the world, keep an open mind. You may have grown up in the projects of Brooklyn, Newyork and never saw whites in your community. Does that mean that white men are off limits? Of course not. It just means that if you find yourself on the other side of town, give it a looksey. If you’re that black man and you feel that you’re not smart enough for a white woman to date you, look around. You’d be amazed that white women do actually like black men. Not all of them, but there are also black women who do not like their own race, for whatever reason. That attitude comes in all races. There have been talk shows where Asian women have said, “I only like black guys or Latino men.” That is truly that womans preference. There is truly someone for everyone, and the Maury Povich show is proof positive. Now yes, I did just give a strange example, but the reality is there for you to see.

If you are one of those people who refuses to accept any other race than your own, because you’re thinking it’s sinful or you think you’re keeping your race pure, well you have contributed to a small nugget of the worlds view. Which ultimately means, you have really made no difference at all. America is the Melting Pot of the World and so is Africa. There are very few places where you can find so many mixed races as you find here. It is worth applauding. The times are over where one walked the streets and saw a black guy with a white girl and someone ended up getting lynched. The days are long gone when a white man looked upon a black woman and said the only way to sleep with her is to sneak into her bed at night. In history, there are so many stories about interracial dating that were never made public because of the fear that would grip them. Who could blame them? Times have changed and if you’re not paying attention, you will eventually look around and realize that you’re the only one who has not gotten the memo. If love is truly the basis for the interracial relationship, worrying about your public appearance is the least of your worries.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — For generations here in the deepest South, there had been a great taboo: publicly crossing the color line for love. Less than 45 years ago, marriage between blacks and whites was illegal, and it has been frowned upon for much of the time since.

So when a great job beckoned about an hour’s drive north of the Gulf Coast, Jeffrey Norwood, a black college basketball coach, had reservations. He was in a serious relationship with a woman who was white and Asian.

“You’re thinking about a life in South Mississippi?” his father said in a skeptical voice, recalling days when a black man could face mortal danger just being seen with a woman of another race, regardless of intentions. “Are you sure?”

But on visits to Hattiesburg, the younger Mr. Norwood said he liked what he saw: growing diversity. So he moved, married, and, with his wife, had a baby girl who was counted on the last census as black, white and Asian. Taylor Rae Norwood, 3, is one of thousands of mixed-race children who have made this state home to one of the country’s most rapidly expanding multiracial populations, up 70 percent between 2000 and 2010, according to new data from the Census Bureau.

In the first comprehensive accounting of multiracial Americans since statistics were first collected about them in 2000, reporting from the 2010 census, made public in recent days, shows that the nation’s mixed-race population is growing far more quickly than many demographers had estimated, particularly in the South and parts of the Midwest. That conclusion is based on the bureau’s analysis of 42 states; the data from the remaining eight states will be released this week.

In North Carolina, the mixed-race population doubled. In Georgia, it expanded by more than 80 percent, and by nearly as much in Kentucky and Tennessee. In Indiana, Iowa and South Dakota, the multiracial population increased by about 70 percent.

“Anything over 50 percent is impressive,” said William H. Frey, a sociologist and demographer at the Brookings Institution. “The fact that even states like Mississippi were able to see a large explosion of residents identifying as both black and white tells us something that people would not have predicted 10 or 20 years ago.”

Census officials were expecting a national multiracial growth rate of about 35 percent since 2000, when seven million people — 2.4 percent of the population — chose more than one race. Officials have not yet announced a national growth rate, but it seems sure to be closer to 50 percent.

The contour and the shade of the change are not uniform. In states like California, Hawaii and Oklahoma, where people of mixed race already made up a significant percentage of the total, the increases were smaller than in places like Mississippi, where there were far fewer mixed-race people to start with. In Hawaii, for instance — where the multiracial group accounts for 23 percent of the population, highest of any state — the growth since 2000 was 23.6 percent.

Also, in Hawaii, the predominant mix is Asian and white and native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, while in Oklahoma, it is American Indian and white. In Mississippi, the most common mix is black and white — historically and today the two groups least likely to intermarry, sociologists say, because of the enduring social and economic distance between them. (It was also against the law until 1967.)

Mississippi led the nation in the growth of mixed marriages for most of the last decade, according to Mr. Frey’s analysis of the American Community Survey. Still, multiracial people are a tiny percentage of the state’s population: 34,000, about 1.1 percent. And many here complain of enduring racial inequities.

There was an uproar last year over comments by Gov. Haley Barbour suggesting that the civil rights era in Mississippi, with its sometimes fatal strife, was not that bad. And some are rankled that the state flag still contains a miniature version of the Confederate battle standard.

Nonetheless, many here also see progress, something akin to “a door opening,” in the words of one resident.

“Racial attitudes are changing,” said Marvin King, a professor of political science at the University of Mississippi who is black, married to a white woman, and the father of a 2-year-old biracial daughter. “Day in, day out, there is certainly not the hostility there was years ago, and I think you see that in that there are more interracial relationships, and people don’t fear those relationships. They don’t have to hide those relationships anymore.”

Mr. Norwood and his wife, Patty Norwood, agreed. “It’s been really smooth here,” said Mr. Norwood, 48, a Hattiesburg resident for 11 years and a men’s basketball coach at William Carey University. He had been most recently coaching at a college in the culturally diverse area of Cajun Louisiana. “I think some people who may not have been comfortable with this in the past have no choice now. I mean, people always told me, the farther south you go, the more racism you’ll feel. But that has not been true.”

Mrs. Norwood, 39, a photographer who is Thai and Chinese on her mother’s side and white on her father’s, added: “I think if people see that you are genuine and in love, and that you are comfortable with yourselves, they are put at ease.”

All in all, the proof is in the pudding. The cause is unknown for this desire for

interracial mixing, but in time, it will prove positive for a lot of reasons. Right now, in a diverse country, it is hard for black and white to talk about politics. It is virtually impossible for anyone to speak against anything that has a black agenda without being called racist. Even the election of President Obama has sparked some racial tensions that were always present, but kept under the rug. Now they are surfacing. Well the problem is this. When you had blacks and whites living miles apart, it was easy to say, “leave them alone.” But when you have white children and black children playing together in school and they laugh with each other, it is indeed the parents who have the problem. The children are never the problem. They play with each other and nothing about race comes up. And if it were possible, it would have been inbred into their thinking. Since children are not born with this division in their psyche. Yes a child may ask their parents, Why is their skin whiter or lighter and why is their hair straighter or darker, but racism does not have to be introduced. It is solely up to the parents what that child learns.

As a multiracial couple, it is easier for you to challenge these topics and come out as a survivor. Race talks aren’t easy when there is so much dispute, but it is a proven asset to live in harmony with someone you love. Speak on those words and not on the media frenzy. Don’t see the stares or glares. If you’re with someone who you feel makes you look smaller, because sometimes that happens with some couples, example: A white girl might not want to go to the family reunion of the all black family. However, it’s simple, feed off of your partner and if he or she says it’s ok, then it is. Let go of your inhibitions and be happy for once. The relationship that you’ve chosen for you is yours to enjoy, not for everyone to approve. Live Love and Laugh.

I wrote a story about a year ago, it was called, Whats The Racial Divide? And in that particular topic I spoke on the one thing that each couple has in common no matter what side of the field they play on and that element is sex. It is the Universal language and it will never die. The physical attraction of the eyes to the person of another race is undeniable. When politics separate you, which is exactly what it was designed to do, biblical concepts that teach you to be fruitful and multiply spark into action.

NewYork Law says small Marijuana possession should get you a ticket. Why are blacks and Latinos being arrested for it?

Newyork spends $75 million a year to lock up people caught with marijuana, a new study says, even though it’s not technically a crime.

The report by the Drug Policy Alliance says the NYPD spends that much on 50,000 annual pot arrests, in which 86% of those arrested are black or Latino.

State law requires people carrying small amounts of pot to receive the equivalent of a traffic ticket, but critics say the NYPD arrests and jails them anyway – hurting their job and life prospects.

“It stays on your record permanently,” Bronx resident Alfredo Carrasquillo, 27, said at a City Hall news conference. “When they ask you if you’ve ever been arrested, you have to say yes.”

NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly defended the marijuana arrests at a budget hearing later, telling Harlem Councilwoman Melissa Mark-Viverito that police tactics and strategies have kept crime down even if she doesn’t like them.

“If you think the law is not written correctly, then you should petition the state Legislature to change it,” he told her. “The law clearly says if you have marijuana in public view, you should be arrested. It’s a misdemeanor.”

So, if it’s a misdemeanor, then are these arrests turning these folks into felons? Why would a misdemeanor stay on your record forever?
Do you know how many people smoke pot these days? Even the elite has a stash somewhere in their office. Yet NewYork has found a way to pay the state and to turn prospective decent men into criminals. When you arrest someone for a small amount of personal marijuana, you have the potential to destroy their growth. That person should not be locked up for smoking an herb. We all understand Drug selling, but smoking a blunt? That’s over the top.

What a lot of people don’t know is that Jails and prisons are big business. Remember, each inmate that is locked up allows the state to get a certain amount of monies to support them. It’s outrageous. Some states, it’s $1500.00 a day for each inmate who stays 24 hours. So imagine an inmate who was given a 15 year sentence. 365×1500= what? More money for the state to house these non criminals.

This is racist and prejudiced. Yes it is a known fact that most blacks and Latinos are more brazen when it comes to their smoking habits. They are more bold and they have no problem letting you know they are firing up. However, cops should also have no problem giving them a ticket and sending them on their way. If they have over the legal limit that is classified for personal use, then arrest them, as it is possible that they are selling and delivering. But for personal use, ticket/citation only, then move on to the more hardened criminals.

The jails are over crowded and it keeps the minor infractions locked away, but the pedophiles and rapist walk free. Florida is the same way. They lock up everyone for everything. A forgetful driver who forgot to renew their license could find themselves arrested. That’s nonsense. If you don’t have insurance, you can find yourself arrested. Public displays of farts could get you arrested. What next?

This entire story is insane and it goes to show you that the states are money hungry, and it is a waste of tax payers money. Weed Heads are not hardened criminals. Hardened criminals are hardened criminals. Could a person who smokes weed eventually want to smoke crack or do heroine? Well of course, but let’s cross that bridge when we get to it. If we locked everyone up for preventative maintenance, then noone would be free. Most people who smoke marijuana for years, Only smoke weed. They have no interest in anything else other than cigarettes or drinking a beer. The reason why marijuana is fought against so roughly is because of one simple factor. It is not regulated.

If the government could find a way to regulate it, they would be able to make billions of dollars. The government also knows that if marijuana became legal, that millions of blacks would become rich. It is already known that the Latino community is heavily funded by their drug selling of this substance, however, blacks have not gotten on this wagon as of yet. There is a healthy fear as far as the government is concerned. And in an effort to dismiss the attempts of blacks selling marijuana and gaining a profit, they have found it feesible to arrest each one, no matter how small the offense.

Also, what classifies as “Public view”? If you’re in a care smoking a blunt, does that mean public view from police officers or public view from bystanders? So, it’s ok to smoke marijuana in your home? Is marijuana legal or illegal?

Carlos Cardenas (Illegal Immigrant) Alleged Killer

More than a month after Katherine Sanchez went missing, her body was found in an apple Orchard. According to the story, the wife of the alleged killer, Kimberly Cardenas states that “he” acted normal and was seemingly just as concerned as she was. All the while, he knew what he had done to her baby sister.
Kimberly wants Cardenas to receive the death penalty for the murder of her sister. Carlos Cardenas is quite the ungrateful one. Bad enough he is in this country illegally, but he turns around and murders his sister in law.
That is hardly the story you hear of Mexicans coming over here for the American Dream. He is not a testament to that thinking. He’s a cold blooded murderer, and possibly he was a criminal in Mexico as well. That’s why he came here more than likely. Must America keep getting Mexicos rejects?
It would be nice to get some of the good ones who are truly here to get the “dream” rather than causing a nightmare.
This is such a sad story. This little one didn’t deserve to be treated the way she was. It’s noones fault necessarily, but there are those who will find fault with someone. A 15-year-old upstate New York girl was raped, suffocated and buried days later in an apple orchard by her brother-in-law, police said.

The remains of Katherine Sanchez were found Friday, more than a month after she was reported missing.

Carlos Cardenas, 21, is being held on second-degree murder charges in Orleans County.

Police say Cardenas raped the teen while she was babysitting at his house and killed her when she threatened to tell her sister, WKBW-TV reported.

Cardenas kept Sanchez’s dead body in his basement for a couple of days before taking it to the orchard, said police.

“He deserves the death sentence, that’s what he deserves,” Kimberly Cardenas said of her husband, whom she said acted normally while Sanchez was missing. “He’s demented. He’s a sick man.”

Police said Carlos Cardenas, a native of Mexico, is illegally in the U.S.

“She was an angel,” Kimberly Cardenas said of her sister, “an angel on earth.”

11 year old Texas Girl Lured from home and Raped by at least 6 men

What were the parents thinking in this case? When is it ever ok for an 11 year old girl to go prancing around with a 19 year old? We have laws in place for a reason. We also have parents for a reason, although some choose not to use their rights. If you teach a child how to behave, they will. If you neglect to teach them, they end up in these situations. This mother should be teaching respect and teaching this child that education is more important right now, and not allowing her to chase after boys. Too many parents are becoming “lazy” when it comes to parenting and developing a soft approach. For those of you who want to say, “Relax” to the writer of this blog, It is those attitudes that lead YOUR children to be gang raped.
It is not necessarily all the parents fault, but for one reason. Not knowing who their child was going with. But question this. How does a 19 year old know an 11 year old? Does this child have a reputation? Is she known throughout the community for being “Mature beyond her years?” The connection here is, unless it’s a relative or a close friend of the family, a 19 year old would not be in association with a child so young. The mother does not seem to mention anything about how she was lured out of her home, but perhaps, the Internet or a cell phone might have played a key role in her ability to leave. Did she lie to her mother regarding her whereabouts? Makes logical sense?
What happened after that was noones fault. This sort of crime happens to women also. It can even happen to a man if he gets in the car with the wrong person. Problem is, you never know and once the door is closed, you have lost control as the passenger. The Mother who thinks that her son is innocent should watch the video.

Many are pointing the finger when it comes to the gang rape victim. They want to know who is responsible for this gang rape that happened over Thanksgiving. The media is becoming increasingly angry because noone knows who should be responsible. Yes the child was raped, but what if it were preventable? The town is outraged and it is creating a racial divide amongst them. Some adults are blaming the child for being raped and some are saying that the mother should have been a mother instead of a friend. This story is deplorable, and these men should be punished. They should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. They are all rapists and they are all pedophiles.

It is possible that everyone who does blame the parent for this crime is saying that the parent not being being accountable for their small child is the reason why this happened. It is in any parents nature to feel responsible when something happens to their kid. This story should be no exception to that rule. When you have political leaders and black leaders who stand on a podium and not mention the crime or the criminals, that becomes repulsive, but now there was a time when it was ok to rape a black girl and many white men gang raped them and noone did a thing about it. It is Possible that some of these men believe that it’s just Karma. You get what you give. This story is not the first gang rape, and it won’t be the last. This could have been a hate crime. It could have been a crime of passion where these men felt that they were getting a raw deal in their neighborhood and wanted to lash out at anyone they could. Times are tough and in the minds of many people, they are prepared to turn their heads to something so sinister just to prove a point. The smirk on a lot of these mens’ faces are arrogant and prideful. There is a sense of relief that they did what they did. They are boastful and proud and may be wearing this as a badge. White men raped women, and they were proud of it. White men hang black men and they stood and took pictures as if they were game. That thought is still in the black mans mind and it will remain until there is some sort of equality. It is a serious mental issue. However, one cannot tell what is in the mind of a person who thinks this way.

The major problem here is that, the leaders in this community are not speaking to the men in regards to their wrong doing, but more so from the stand point of upholding them in their distasteful act. HLN ran a segment regarding “Blaming the Victim” and most everyone was angry that the men are not being held accountable. They are all being treated as heroes. More than a dozen teens and men are believed to be involved in the nightmarish gang rape of an 11-year-old girl in Texas.

At least 16 people, ranging in age from 14 to 27, have been arrested in the past four months in the small town of Cleveland, 50 miles northeast of Houston.

The most recent came Friday, when police busted four high school students. Authorities believe more arrests are likely.

“There have been leads during our investigation that have alerted us to other possible persons of interest,” Cleveland Assistant Police Chief Darrell Broussard told CNN. “The investigation is ongoing.”

The girl, whose name has not been released because of her age, told police at least 20 people attacked her last Thanksgiving. The vicious assault was caught on camera and video, authorities said.

The macabre attack began when 19-year-old Timothy Ellis lured the girl out of her home and asked if she wanted to go “riding around,” according to a police officer’s statement obtained by the Houston Chronicle.

Cops said he took her to an empty house and forced her to strip under threat of violence. Several other men showed up and each raped her.

The sickos then took the 11-year-old to an abandoned trailer, where they continued to have sex with her, as well as use cell phones to take pictures and record video.

“These guys knew she was in middle school,” the girl’s mother, identified only as Maria, told reporters. “You could tell whenever you talked to her. She still loves stuffed teddy bears.”

The video quickly went viral, sparking arrests after the teens in it were recognized by fellow students. The victim, described as a troubled young girl, was also recognized by several people.

“It just seems like a dream,” said Sherry Fletcher, who told reporters her 20-year-old son is among those accused. “I just hope everything comes out well, because some of these kids are innocent.”

A judge has placed a gag order on the case, and police have requested that the girl’s family “relocate” as tensions rise in the town of 9,000.

Maria said she had received repeated, angry phone calls from people looking for the girl, who has been placed in foster care and hasn’t been allowed to see her family.

“The police think we may be in danger,” Maria said, “because if they can’t get my 11-year-old, they might take out their revenge on us.”
