Andrew Scott, shot dead by police, a huge mistake of address.

So the story goes this way. Andrew Scott had just gotten off of work and made his way home from his job at Hungry Howies. As all accounts could say, he was asleep or relaxing, when all of a sudden loud pounds begin to hit his door. He jumped up startled and was concerned with who was at the door that time of morning. He grabbed his gun because he didn’t live in a safe neighborhood, and when he opened the door, he was armed and shot immediately by police.

These same officers never identified themselves. They also reported that upon searching his house, they found drugs (weed) and a scale, and some other drug paraphenelia (baggies). Hmmmm, so why are they trying to sell us on this bad guy image? Is this really necessary? Well of course it is if they think they fucked up!

Officials said the incident started when deputies were looking forattempted murder suspect 31-year-old Jonathan Brown at the Blueberry Hill apartment complex on Ryan Drive in Leesburg.

According to authorities, Brown fled from deputies on a motorcycle, which they later found parked in front of Apartment 114. However, that was not the apartment in which Brown lived.

Three deputies were in uniform when they banged on Scott’s door of Apartment 114 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, believing Brown was inside.

Deputies said they admit they knocked on the wrong apartment door but said they had to open fire when 26-year-old Scott came out, armed with a gun.

Scott was shot and killed, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Originally, the Sheriff’s Office said deputies had announced who they were.

But an email the Sheriff’s Office sent Sunday revealed deputies “didn’t announce and identify themselves” and called it a “minor detail.”

And on Monday, the Sheriff’s Office told WFTV’s Kathi Belich that deputies didn’t have to identify themselves at all.

A spokesman with the Sheriff’s Office told Belich that all deputies saw when the door opened was the muzzle of a gun, and they did what they had to protect themselves.

But friends of Scott WFTV talked to said deputies are painting him in the wrong light.

A friend of Scott’s called him a gentle giant and said he’s the one who gave Scott the gun for his protection. He said Scott had just gotten home from working late when the deputies came to his door.
“They banged on the door. They didn’t yell out, ‘Lake County Sheriff!’ They weren’t being loud; vocal. The guy opened the door at 2 in the morning,” said a witness who did not want to be identified.

“I saw him six hours before (the shooting), and he was fine,” said one of Scott’s friends. “When I heard about it I thought it was a joke.”

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in Scott’s home, deputies said.

K-9 Deputy Richard Sylvester, who shot and killed Scott, was wearing a black utility vest with the word “sheriff” on the front.

WFTV learned in the six weeks before Sunday’s shooting, Sylvester has been working around 40 hours of overtime per two-week pay period.

WFTV asked if that could’ve been a factor.

“Regardless of how tired he was, regardless of how much overtime he had this week, or last week, or the last three weeks, or the last month, he took the action he was forced to take that given moment,” said Lt. John Herrell of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

No matter what, the Sheriff’s Office said, Scott opened the door with the gun pointed at them, and at this point, there’s no indication anyone said anything before Sylvester opened fire.

“This individual was in his home. He was at a place he had a right to be. He’s awoken early in the morning by someone banging at his door; certainly he had a right to go to that door armed,” said Sheaffer.

In some cases, officers don’t identify themselves for the element of surprise if they don’t want a suspect to get away. But the only way in or out of Scott’s apartment is through the front door and the front windows.

“The bottom line is police went to the wrong house. This was an otherwise innocent person, and he was shot to death,” said Sheaffer.

The officers could have surrounded the front and then identified themselves, especially since the officers did not actually see Brown go into the door.

“It was the middle of the night, so they felt it’d be more tactically advantageous to just knock on the door, and that’s what we did,” said Herrell.

“If the name of the law enforcement agency was announced, do you think this could’ve been prevented?” asked WFTV reporter Ryan Hughes.

“Well, based upon what we found inside his home — drugs, scales, pipes, baggies — I can’t answer that. I don’t know what he thought,” Herrell said.

Sylvester never used his dog to track the suspect. Investigators said Brown’s motorcycle was still hot and was parked in front of the door.

They eventually caught Brown at his apartment, which is in the next building.

Sylvester is now on administrative leave. He was also involved in last week’s deputy shooting behind an Advanced Auto Parts store in Eustis.

WFTV was told he’s a police dog handler and that he witnessed two other deputies kill Gilberto Rivera.

The Sheriff’s Office said Rivera had just killed the auto shop clerk he was stalking and wounded another employee.

The deputy who fired the shot that killed Rivera has been placed on administrative leave.

Ever seen the movie “An Innocent Man” starring Tom Selleck. There is a great story line to this movie. Two crooked cops are searching for a drug dealer, and they were given the wrong address by a snitch, who happened to be an addict. Well, they arrive to this guys house, (good resectable guy at that) and they bust the door down, ultimately shooting the guy twice. They plant drugs in his house and tear it all up. They knew what they had done and when they discovered that an innocent man had been shot, they had to cover up their dirt. Of course, if this had been the correct address in the movie, these cops would have stolen the drugs and money and created a hostile place for this guy. Afterall, who would report being robbed by the cops if you’re a drug dealer?

Another point to make, and lets be real here. This was a white guy being accused of selling pot. Ummm, what person wants to risk being shot to death over some pot conviction? He would have been out in no time. Seriously…did they have to shoot this young man? And why didn’t they announce who they were? Ok, yes I understand they were looking for a big time criminal, but…even still, not to announce yourself is asking for that sorta outcome.
Andrews friends are so upset right now because the media is showing his mugshot as his primary photo, and of course the first thing the officers did was to show him as a bad guy and paint him in a bad light. Why? Because then you folks will be desensitized about what’s really going on with this story. So they call announcing themselves a minor detail? Get the fuck outta here. Minor? So the law is So the law is above reason.

Also, did the jerk who parked in front of the wrong apartment do this on purpose? Obviously one has to wonder if he anticipated such a disgusting act on his part having this take place. This guy really was innocent and is innocent and hopefully his family can sue sue sue.

This is the home of James Maxwell. Accused child rapist and now the proud owner of human remains in his back yard. His nervousness lead police to go further and search his property after receiving information from sources who say that he was antsy about plumbers coming to his house and digging. Since Laurel Rogers went missing, there hasn’t been much information regarding her case until recent. If it weren’t for the little girl who James Maxwell raped, this case would not be looked at for quite some time, as there were no real leads. The body is being considered undisclosed, however investigators are saying that they have a pretty good idea who the victim is. Could this be Laurel Rogers?

According to news sources, James Maxwell lived just a half a mile away from this missing lady. Would a woman who had Lupus ever have left without her medication or ever have left without her medication for fibromyalgia? That is a very painful condition and she would need therapy at any given time. As it could be debilatating.

 

Her phone was said to have made a phone call some time after she went missing. It actually called a friend of hers. When questioned who the caller was he gave the name, “Jamal” and said that Laurel had left with 2 men. One named Kenny and the other Breezy. Side note, James Maxwell Found on a Sleuth site from “Heineken Man”…food for thought?

Laurels Mother, Lauretta spoke on the news today and said that she hopes it’s not her daughter that was discovered in James Maxwells yard. Yes it would bring closure, but every parent holds on to the hope that their child is still alive.

It is also being reported on http://www.cfnews13.com that James Maxwell’s girlfriend (Joanna Bertram) at the time of his arrest back in December 2011 that he would threaten them by telling them stories of women being buried in his back yard. He referred to the buried women as “hookers.” One Neighbor Colt Wainright states that they were neighbors and that they borrow tools from each other periodically, possibly even a shovel. But who knows.
Another note to mention. Since this story is resurfacing about Laurel Rogers, there have been a few sites that have chosen to post some not so positive photos of Laurel from a time where she was arrested. That will not be done here. That does nothing for her cause and it does nothing to help her surviving family. Provided it is her remains. If not, it is still tacky to post such information on a missing person. It desensitizes the story and makes it seem as if she is unworthy of being alive or searched for. It doesn’t matter what her past was, murder is a crime and it was unnecessary if it is her. I hope it isn’t as well.

So this story starts out with this guy being invited for a neighbors party. In which he enjoys himself at the buffet table, and then returns later that night to kidnap the girl from her bedroom. He then takes this 9 year old child to his house and proceeds to rape her, all for her to be returned the following morning to her home. So that’s the most fucked up thing.. At least he is in jail for that, but lo and behold, he isn’t done yet. There were human remains found in his back yard. Seriously? What the hell is wrong with this guy? Looks like he is no smooth criminal. He totally got busted. But, strange enough, if it wasn’t for the horrible crime against the little girl, he might have gotten away.

See, there is no rehabing these guys. They may be sorry for that ONE crime they got caught at, but…what about the shit we don’t know about? As we see, somebodys been busy. It is going to take them at least a month to identify the body. Just imagine how easy it is for someone to commit these types of crimes, and yet no one suspects anything. He got caugt for the lighter crime.. I say lighter, because America has yet to take rape seriously. Kinda like OJ. He didn’t get time for his wifes murder, but for stealing his own merchandise, he got 15 years.

The remains of an adult were found in the backyard of a man’s home, who is in jail on charges of raping and kidnapping a 9-year-old girl, said Port Orange Police Chief Jerry Monahan.

James Maxwell was arrested in December 2011 and is in jail awaiting trial for the charges. Police said he kidnapped the girl after a neighbor’s Christmas party.

Maxwell dropped the girl off at the police department the next day and he was arrested.

Monahan said it will take at least one month to identify the body.

“A very significant period of time,” said Monahan. “The information that we have would have to be verified by the medical examiner.”

Police said they received tips that Maxwell has been concerned over plumbing work in the backyard of his home on Brandy Hills Drive.

“We received information from individuals, from two individuals actually, relative to statements that were made to them over concern over construction coming to this property and perhaps digging,” said Monahan.

Skywitness 9HD was over the scene where there were canopies set up in the backyard.

“I’m not here to judge him. He’ll have to answer for what he’s done, either in the legal system or later on,” said neighbor Ruth Kressler.

Officers said that cadaver dogs were brought to the scene on Friday, according to Monahan.

He said investigators then used ground radar detection to find out where to dig.

Monahan said that on Monday at about 3:30 p.m., they found the remains.

Maxwell has lived in the home with his mother since the 1980s, and he is being called a suspect in the case.

“James Maxwell is the primary suspect in the case,” Monahan said. “Mr. Maxwell is in jail. He will remain in jail. He’s no longer a threat to the community.”

Investigators said they do not believe there are any other bodies buried in the yard, but said they will continue to dig just to be sure.

Police said Maxwell’s mother owns the home, and he had a relationship and child with the woman who lives there now.

Police also said that several years ago, Maxwell got out of prison after serving time for attempted murder.

So, what are parents to do? What could these parents have done to ensure their little girls safety? NOTHING, OTHER than make sure her windows were closed tightly and not to trust anyone with their kid. Naturally, we want to reach out and touch someone and enjoy our neighbors, but seriously, we don’t know them. And if you teach your child not to talk to strangers, why do you as the adult allow them into your house?

Perhaps they had some type of relationship, or he had done something worth trusting…but that is too close for comfort. Perhaps she thought that he was an older guy and that he was harmless looking.

A young African American boy walks down the street carrying a bag of skittles and a cup of sweet tea is gunned down by a trigger happy community (official). His job was to be a neighborhood watchman. To say the least he took the situation too far. He murdered a young boy in cold blood and seems to have no remorse. On the stand as he was being questioned regarding his actions, as it referred to the decision to give him bail, he made a shocking comment.”I didn’t know how old he was” From the mouth of the attacker/aggressor Zimmerman. Will he get off for committing this crime?

Here is the disturbing part. Most residents of Sanford, Florida are very much aware of the racial tension between the residents and law enforcement of that town. The city is known for stereotyping blacks. Yes, crime has been an issue there, just as it has been in many towns. What makes this town different? Blacks have no voice and have chosen not to exercise their rights to free speech. Marches were held, people came from 100′s of miles away all to be a part of the outreach towards the Martin family. Seemingly to no avail. Mainly because, the state of Florida has a multitude of communities of blacks that insist on staying silent and thinking that marching to songs like, “We Shall Overcome” will be beneficial to their cause. It wont help. It didn’t help when Martin Luther did it and it won’t now. Sounds pessimistic? Not at all. It’s a matter of fact. Al Sharpton, The New Black Panther Party arrived and yet Zimmerman is tucked away and being taken care of by the state. He has no fears. He is receiving support from a portion of his community that believes in his story and sees this as an opportunity to to express their fears and hate. Yet, where is the outreach for the Martin family? The news reported the website of George Zimmerman a several occassions. They mention the fact that he has a facebook page. They introduced his attorney. Yet, it seems that the Martin family has cowered away into their respective corners to sulk over the loss of their deceased son. Where is his justice? They have received very little coverage, and the footage that is being shown is surrounded by their vision of defeat and desperation. It is fair to say that if Trayvon Martin doesnt get justice, it may be due to the idea that his family is passive and too emotional. Meanwhile, Zimmerman looks headstrong. If this family wants justice, they have to fight in it. Unfortunately, as Christians, they will sit back and wait on god to deliver them and show up and give them the justice that they deserve. Hmmmmm, not gonna happen. No one gets anything in this world without a fight. Do you think that Zimmerman will walk?

Another point to mention. Where have the character witness’s so to speak who could attest to the fact that Trayvon was a good boy? Has the family rounded them up? Friends, acquaintances, neighbors…etc. This young boy needs people who can come to his defense. Its not up to the courts or law enforcement to provide this information, the parents must do their own detective work. George Zimmerman has had several people from his neighborhood state that he is a kind hearted young man. A dead man cannot speak.

This is the image that the media is now showing the general public. It is an attempt to make Zimmerman appear to be more acceptable rather than the horrible shot of him in his jail house Orange. You might be surprised that it actually works. The Z Team has their homework done. They want him to win and they have insisted that the media bite their ideals and less of the ideals of the deceased and his family. The tables have turned and pretty soon, the Martin family will be grabbing at anything they can to ruin the image of an already known killer.

This photo shows the face of a loving family man. He looks soft and gentle. Like Norman Bates states, "Wouldn't Harm a fly." He sells it well and the media is buying. Mankind is much like a sponge. Soaking up whatever we get an overdose of. This picture does not show what was shown the night Zimmerman committed this crime. This is the picture that the public will want to relate to.

This story rose to fame in 2008 and for so long, those who held the little Caylee Marie Anthony in their hearts will now be closer to breathing…or exhaling. So the trial will be held in Orlando, but the jury is being selected in ClearWater. Just 100 miles away…was that enough to take Anthony out of the publics eye? That attempt to get a jury from “far away” was somewhat shabby. No one is complaining though are they?

If most people who are aware of this case were questioned, They want her to fry for that she is being accused of. Orlando, Florida just recently sent their residents who live in a certain proximity to the Downtown Courthouse some letters pertaining to the media and the crowds that this case may draw.

This case is being said that it will draw more attention than OJ Simpson did in his trial, as being accused of killing his wife. There is still no reason why millions of people got involved in this case. If it wasn’t people protesting at the actual home, then its the hundreds of bloggers that write about this story. Why? There are hundreds of kids who get killed by their parents every day. None of them make national headlines. Supposedly, it’s the way Casey Anthony acted. Perhaps its her way of acting as if she could care less.  Maybe it was the knowledge that this child was missing over a month and the mother never mentioned it to anyone, but instead, chose a life of clubbing and partying. America and other countries, Yes other countries reached out after hearing this story. Some of my comments came from Japan.

However, those who aren’t close to this case when it comes to locale, will not have the same thoughts that O-towners have. Those who were there from the beginning. Those who frequented the same clubs that she visited. Those who stood in the parking lots at night after Casey Anthonys trips to her favorite bar, walked the same streets, went to the same school, lived in the same neighborhood. They will have plenty more to say. It hits closer to home.  Clear Water is clearly not far enough. But does that place exist? Well, there were people who didn’t know Oprah Winfrey who lived in the outskirts of Illinois, so…maybe it was. Granted, these were back wood folks with no televisions and no media outlets.

Jury selection started Monday in the trial of an Orlando woman charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter.

Casey Anthony’s trial will take place in Orlando, but jurors are being selected at a courthouse about 100 miles away because of intense media coverage. The first panel of potential jurors met with the judge and attorneys Monday morning in Clearwater.

Chief Judge Belvin Perry hopes to have 20 jurors — including eight alternates — in place by the end of the week so the trial can begin May 17. Potential jurors will undergo two rounds of questioning and be asked if they could recommend the death penalty for Anthony.

She is charged with first-degree murder, and any juror who couldn’t recommend death would be disqualified.

Anthony, 25, has pleaded not guilty to killing her daughter Caylee and says a baby-sitter kidnapped her. After a massive search, the girl’s body was found seven months after her June 2008 disappearance. It was discovered by a meter reader in some woods about a quarter of a mile from the home mother and daughter had shared with Anthony’s parents and brother. Detectives said residue of a heart-shaped sticker was found on duct tape over the mouth of her skull.

Monday was spent identifying jurors who have personal issues that would preclude them from serving the six to eight weeks the trial is expected to last. Those not dismissed for those reasons must come back later for more questioning.

Defense attorney Jose Baez objected to the first panel of about 100 people in its entirety, saying that it wasn’t representative of Orlando’s demographics because it had only two Hispanic and four African-American jurors.

Perry denied the objection and questioning of the panelists began.

Perry also issued an order Monday morning denying a defense request to exclude air tests from carpet sample taken from Anthony’s car. Tests for odors associated with a body’s decomposition were run on the carpet sample and the tests identified chloroform in the sample.

Chloroform is a chemical associated with decomposition but also can be used to render a person unconscious.

The tests have never been admitted in a trial in the United States.

So, Jose Baez wants more blacks and more latinos? Why? Does he really care? Does he think that whites would be more “easy” on her? When I covered this story 2 years ago, the crowds of readers were predominantly white. They hated her, loathed her, wanted her to fry. They created sites called, “Help Fry Casey” . I had them in my blog roll. Not sure where Jose is going with this, but it could back fire.

Lead Attorney in Casey Anthony Murder trial was asked to leave. Or was he?

Casey Anthony had seemingly requested that her long standing attorney Jose Baez leave the case. Jose Baez was the initial attorney that began with Anthony in the beginning stages of her being charged with Murder.

Casey Anthony is accused and being charged with the murder of her 3 year old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony. Her body was discovered in a park a few blocks from her mothers home.

The initial story was that a babysitter/nanny had taken the child and possibly left the country. However, a foul odor that was witnessed by the childs grandmother left police to believe that there was some sort of foul play. Casey Anthony lead the world to believe that the child was indeed kidnapped, despite Cadaver dogs touching on several sites around the property. Those that were interested in this case were thrown for a loop as the story began to unfold.

Casey Anthony had stolen from her best friend, She was found to have had a long and hard party life. It was determined by many that she was in a position to choose her boyfriend over her daughter. Proof showed that her boyfriend was the choice that this mother made. Records indicated that while Casey Anthony was claiming that her child was missing, there were pictures of her that surfaced of her in night clubs dancing, drinking and partying all night.

Basically, this missing child was not being looked for by anyone. The grandparents weren’t aware of what had taken place. Casey Anthony had stolen her mothers credit card and ran up charges, she had practically burned bridges with a lot of people.

Once they realized that the case was becoming more complicated and that the Kidnapping story was not believable, she obtained an attorney.

Jose Baez was mocked and criticized for having never won any cases, and for having no known experience for handling such a crucial case. Many followers of this world known tragedy believed that Casey Anthony and her attorney were having an affair at times because of their long hours together. Jose Baez had been reprimanded by the Jail Guards at the correctional facility to keep his hands off his client. He had been warned of this a few times and was told if he cannot keep his hands off of her, that his visitation would be stopped. He eventually changed his behavior.

This case is set to go to Trial in May. It is long awaited and many hearts cried out for this little girl. The writer of this blog committed all of her time and resources to covering the story and now the moment that was waited on has come. Now there’s a monkey wrench. Jose Baez has been on this case for over a 2 years. What will this do for the case?

Does the client now feel that her attorney is incompetent? Has she finally listened to the media who said that he was ill equipped to handle such a case? Actually, it is none of those. Turns out, it was totally a HOAX.

New court documents show someone has asked Judge Belvin Perry to let Jose Baez go on Casey Anthony’s behalf.

A court document filed by a prisoner in another state motioned for Baez’s removal from the case.

It is not clear if the prisoner, Curtis Jackson, has any relation to the case at all.

“There has been an attorney-client breakdown in which the defendant feels that attorney Jose Baez’ defense strategy is innefective, not sound or reasonable,” Jackson, who is being held in Michigan, wrote.

Casey’s main attorneys are Jose Baez and veteran defense lawyer Cheney Mason. Jacksonville attorney Ann Finnell is working on penalty phase issues and attorney Dorothy Sims specializes in cross-examining medical experts.

The case returns to court at 9 a.m. Wednesday for more hearings. WESH.com will stream the hearings live.

The motion is well written and apparently, Jackson files better motions than the “real” attorney. It looked legitimate and it was accepted as truth. The question now remains, did Casey Anthony have anything to do with this motion?

Does she want to have Baez removed from the case and has chosen to use Jackson as her mouth piece? It is unthinkable that he would just come up with this idea to file a bogus motion on behalf of someone he doesn’t know. He could be merely trying to get the spot light, and of course, he deserves it for the time being. The media was fooled, they printed the story and thought it was real, This blog wrote the story and went back to cross reference and discovered it was a hoax.

Police arrested a man they said killed two people at an Orlando apartment complex on Sunday night.

Officers said 45-year-old Eligio Isalgue shot his estranged wife and her new boyfriend at the Camden at Lake Reserve Apartments.

The complex is located on Lake Margaret Drive near Dixie Belle Drive and the shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m.

Isalgue was arrested in the complex’s parking lot. Investigators said they found a gun inside the apartment.

Two other people, including Isalgue’s 13-year-old daughter, were in the apartment. The others were not injured.

Investigators said the husband and wife had not lived together for about two months.

Police said they responded to a prowler call late Sunday night at 5400 block of Lake Margaret Drive (see map) after a neighbor said they saw 45-year-old Eligio Isalgue peeking through the victim’s apartment windows.

They said Isalgue attempted to kick in the front door, but when he failed, he moved to the rear sliding glass door and forcefully broke into the apartment, police said. He then opened fire on his estranged wife, Rosa Barrientos, and her new boyfriend with a .40 handgun, according to police.

Police said Isalgue left his 13-year-old daughter and a friend alive in the apartment.

When Isalgue left the apartment, he was immediately detained in the parking lot by police officers.

Officials said Isalgue and Barrientos had been married for 20 years, but had not lived together for two months. In 2002, Isalgue and Barrientos filed for divorce, according to the Orange County Clerk Of Courts Office.

A background check on the couple’s history revealed one battery domestic violence case against Isalgue in 1998 with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Police said the charges were dropped due to declination to prosecute.

Police said Isalgue is charged with two counts of murder.

The names of all the victims have not been released. This investigation is ongoing.

John Hataway Found Guilty of Attempted Murder by Jury.

A Seminole County jury found James Hataway guilty on all charges Friday evening.

The jury decided that Hataway was guilty of attempted first-degree premeditated murder, burglary of a conveyance with a battery, false imprisonment and robbery.

Hataway was accused of attacking Rachael Clarke in August 2008 in Seminole County. Clarke was left in a neck brace with scratches and bruises all over her body.

Hataway took the stand Friday morning and claimed he never meant to hurt Clarke. He said the incident started with a hug.

“She was giving me a hug and at that point, she started screaming and she pushed me off of her and she said, ‘Stop, you’re hurting me,’” Hataway said.

Hataway claimed he “didn’t know what was going on,” so he chased after the woman when she ran down the street.

“She saw me coming up and she started screaming … she says, ‘Help he’s trying to kill me,’” Hataway said. “I said, ‘I’m not trying to kill you.’”

Hataway denies that he then shoved Clarke’s head into the ground.

“It’s possible I got my hands near her face to calm her down,” he said.

Hataway is linked to the disappearance of 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio. He was the last person seen with her when they left a Metrowest bar in May 2009.

Hataway said he doesn’t know what happened to Ocasio. Ocoee police said he’s a suspect in her disappearance, but he has not been charged.

“I’m happy as hell,” said Joanne Clarke, the victim’s mother.

Rachael’s mom said after her daughter relived the 2008 attack Tuesday, she couldn’t bear to be in the same room as Hataway for the verdict.

“It’s way too much,” said Joanne Clarke.

Plenty of others, like Liz and Joe Ocasio, were there to celebrate the outcome of the week-long trial.

“That brave girl today, not only did she get lucky getting away, she put a monster behind bars where he belongs,” said father Joe Ocasio.

“Once we find Tracy, we’ll know where he is, so we can go after him. He didn’t get away that time and he’s not going to get away this next time either,” said mother Liz Ocasio.

Hataway’s friend, Dallas White, said he is disgusted by the verdict. “If he wanted to hurt that girl, that girl would have been dead. That guy is 10 times stronger than me. He’s a big teddy bear,” said White.

Rachael Clarke stood in front of a full gallery and testified about an event that almost stole her life.

She pointed her finger at James Hataway who she said tried to kill her after she gave him a ride home from a party in Casselberry in 2008.

Hataway sat in handcuffs in the courtroom, freshly shaven and bald with a vacant look on his face for most of the day.

For a portion of the hearing, Clarke stood in front of the jury and demonstrated how she said Hataway tried to kill her. She put her hands around an Assistant State Attorney’s throat and said, “He wouldn’t let go of me.”

Clarke added, “I felt like he was trying to break my neck.”

Hataway is also the sole suspect in the disappearance of an Ocoee woman named Tracy Ocasio and the death of an Orlando man named Onda Christopher George. In the courtroom were the parents of both.

When asked how she could handle looking at the man investigator believe is responsible for the death of her daughter, Mrs. Ocasio said, “I ask myself that everyday.”

If convicted Hataway faces life in prison.

Now we have to hold on to hope that He will come clean with what he knows about the missing Florida woman, Tracy Ocasio. She was last seen with Hataway and has not been seen since the night they left a club together.

New Florida Law Passing could allow Gun Owners to carry concealed weapons.

How would you like to live in the Wild Wild West, or is that The Dirty South? You decide which one. If this bill passes, legal gun owners can now brandish their weapons in public and you will see it in their Holsters.

Do we need gun control? In the last few weeks, there have been a number of stories ran that all focused on Gun Crimes by legal owners. Mostly men and women who are married killing each other.

What is the difference? Well, if they allow guns to be displayed publicly, then they might as well allow drug dealing to take place publicly and also marijuana smokers should be able to fire up publicly, and also, having a beer in public should be allowed as well.

This gun law is not broken, so why are they trying to fix it? Its not like there is a horrible influx of crime on the streets. Most of the news that is being written about is all behind closed doors. Every now and then a story runs about a complete stranger gunning down an innocent family. This law is being debated for Florida. So, they want the murder rate to be 365 per year? That is exactly what will happen.
Carrying a gun on you in plain visible sight is asking for trouble. First of all, Children. A child walking by and seeing it will become intrigued immediately. It will become a nation of Gun carrying rogues. Who needs that?

Yes America is having some hard times, but it’s not that bad is it? In New York where the crime rates are much higher than in Florida, this proposal is not on the table, even though the residents needs some form of protection. It is not legal for a resident of New York to own a gun, however the criminals have them. How fair is that? A business owner cannot protect himself, and a married couple strolling in the part cannot protect themselves and run the risk of getting shot by some unruly thug. Why does the South have to be so notorious for their gun control issues?

If someone is carrying a gun in the open, then couldn’t someone who shouldn’t have one grab it from them? Every person who owns a gun is not an experienced fighter. Will the rule apply to everyone interested. I’m done with this story. This is the stupidest idea yet. Let us keep our guns, but we DO NOT need to display them publicly.

What is the point of carrying a gun publicly? That is why we hire Police to protect our streets. Residents don’t need to Man their own roads and protect the general public.

In Florida, gun owners can’t holster their guns outside of their clothing, but that could change if a piece of legislation turns into law.

It’s called “open carry” and it’s drawing plenty of attention from advocates and opponents alike.

Charles O’Meara of Shoot Straight, a firearms store, thinks the law would scare those who don’t own guns and create opportunities for crime.

“I don’t think it’s fair to make those people feel uncomfortable, but the bigger part is, what happens when someone walks up behind the gun owner and pulls the gun out of its holster? Now you have someone who should not have one, with a gun in their hands,” said O’Meara.

Under House Bill 517, which has already passed in the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee, a person would need to have a valid concealed weapon or firearm license in order to carry a weapon or firearm openly.

Seminole County Sheriff Don Eslinger is in Tallahassee fighting the bill, which he calls an invitation for more crime with guns. The bill is drawing fire from the Florida Sheriff’s Association.

“All it would do is further add to the confusion that the public will have wondering whether or not this person with a gun is in the process of doing something unlawful or not,” said Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings.

Other gun owners said they were against the measure.

“I would not have a problem with open-carry, but I would prefer concealed. I don’t like to let anyone know that I have the weapon,” said Philip Haugan.

“I don’t see the need for it,” said Eric Dayman.

The bill does prevent openly carrying a weapon in certain locations, such as schools, colleges, airports and bars.
